Congratulations on your decisions to expand your mind and horizons. I still believe that the folks that I met in College were the best medicine to help leave the Jehobees. I met all/every sort. My first roomie as a freshman was my best-man in my wedding and is likely my still my best friend. 99% of what I was told in th Borg was untrue. Yeah, there are some kooks that are truly evil and are what I was told about; but the other 99.5% of the people you meet are just like you. They just wanna do the best they can and get all that they can outta life. Go find your way. I keep in touch with over 30 people that I met while in school, though it did take me a while as I worked and went to school. Get your undergrad and then get a gig at a large employer that has a program to pay for your Graduate degree. Then you can do what you want! Keep on Rockin' in the Free World!

I can put bumper stickers on my car now!
by kitten whiskers inthis may seem silly---but ever since i could drive, every car had to be acceptable for field service.
no vanity plate on the front (have one now!
), no bumper stickers or advertising slogans (have 3 now!).

What shocked you first, into realizing the world was not like the JW's?
by free2beme ini left the witnesses in 1997. i was trying to make new friends and met some people through the gym.
my spouse and i went to their house for some dinner, and we thought it would be a great time.
also, we wanted to get to know people that were not witnesses and get a foot-hold into our new life.

Front Door Sign Idea?
by Asheron inno soliciting!.
(unless you are someone under the age of 12 selling something sweet, like cookies or candy, at a price not to exceed $2.00, for your scout troop, sports team, or church group.
i?m sympathetic to child slave labor, i like kids, and i like cookies even better.).

One more thing: I had a postcard from New York City that was a picture of a window seemingly on top of a building with spray-painted writing next to it, which read, "Come inside, I want to hurt you." That might work, except it breaks the "girl-scout cookie okay" rule.

The congo where I live must be... how was it described in the "weird sayings" post? spiritually weak. My wife and I both "work" outta the house and in the past 9 years we'd never had any Dub visitors. I kinda feel left out. Maybe they are tracking my IP address from this site and know that I'm a lost cause.

My lovely Catholic wife just reminded me of another Zinger! You need to work a "Poop Darn!" in with all the acronyms.

Is There Anything Positive About Being A Jehovah's Witness?
by minimus ini recently went to a wedding and the father of the bride that (re)married a (worldly) man said to me, "the only thing that i can say about raising our kids as witnesses was at least they got a good foundation.
look at our kids.
they're good kids".

Taught me that some people will not change regardless of how much "proof" you give them. Oh, yeah, and it taught me how to leave a cult.

He's an clown and someone is going to knock his block off. Glad it wasn't you. Don't want to see you go to the pokie. Sounds like he may be a little angry too. He will likely get an ulcer. My wife was telling a story the other day and she said, "I wanted to tell that dude to go F.O." I'm not sure why it's so funny, but saying, Hey, you can go F.O. and slowly pronouncing the letters is funny to me. Try it.

C.O. is in town, the harassment begins...
by PeachRose ini haven't been to meetings in a long time (trying to fade).
ever so often i do run into a witness or 2 who are friendly, but reserved (after all i am considered in active).
anyway, my hubby & i are currently working on a letter to send to the society that will more then likely get us df'd or disassociated (same thing i guess).

It seems like it's time for a nice little drive... outta town... far outta town, this weekend. That way you're doing things on your terms and not theirs. Keep truckin'; you're on the right path.
